The Keys to College Admission
What is at stake today is no less than career and
economic opportunities that will last a lifetime. A
four-year college degree can result in an additional
$500,000 in income over the student's working career.
Over 70% of the entry level jobs in the workforce today
require education beyond high school. Almost half of
the students with just a high school diploma, will fall
below the poverty level in years to come. While college
costs are high, the value of a college degree has never
been greater.
This issue of the Beyond High School (BHS) newsletter
is dedicated to a single issue, the college selection

preparing admission applications is often confusing
and frustrating. Fortunately, help is close at hand

college planning tools and opportunities to help with
college selection and admission. Don't miss college

available to students and parents. Beyond the high school,
many other are ready to help. Local libraries offer
extensive collections of college planning information.
Each college admission office will be ready to assist
with marketing and promotional materials. Community
organizations like the nonprofit College Planning Network
offer publications and workshops to assist families
and students as they plan.
It is possible to find the right college and move throught
the admission process. To begin, you must clearly understand
your options and opportunities. The goal with this issue
of BHS is provide you with the keys to unlock the door
to your college goals.
