What is the TOEFL?

The TOEFL is the Test of English as a Foreign Language

The TOEFL is a computer-administered English proficiency exam given to students whose native language is one other than English. If English is NOT your primarily language, most colleges and universities will require you to submit a TOEFL score.

Many colleges have minimum TOEFL scores that you must score above to be considered for admission. You can find the minimum TOEFL scores for colleges by using the Colleges.com College Search Engine.

See your high-school counselor to find out if you need to take the TOEFL.

How do I register for the TOEFL?
If calling from within the U.S., call 1-800-TOEFL (1-800-468-6335).
If calling from outside of the U.S., call 1-410-843-4862.

For more information on fees and registration, visit www.toefl.org.
